Premium Ad Ideation

Yahoo Creative Studios is constantly looking for ways to offer new formats, in an effort to stay relevant and innovative one of the main concepts for this project was exploring a full bleed ad format that would be responsive across each ad unit YCS has to offer. Responsibilities included low to high-fidelity concepts, working on rapid prototypes, and communicating effectively with leadership and peers.

Identifying the goal:

A new feature for the edge-to-edge concept.

An easy way to appeal to a mass audience and have it be scalable across all of Yahoo’s platforms.

A stand-out offer from Yahoo’s competitors.

Challenges:

Responsive design.

One-week timeline for research and low-high fidelity concepts.

Quickly create low and high-fidelity concepts and prototypes.

Reimagining Parallax

What if the innovation is reimagining something we love but tweaking it a bit so it’s a brand-new experience? My thought was to have a display ad sequence and have the user interact horizontally vs vertically. The ad spaces would be sequential so a takeover would be throughout the entire page vs just the top banner.
